Electrical Discharge Machining (E.D.M.), sometimes also referred to as spark machining, spark eroding, burning, die sinking, wire burning or wire erosion, is a manufacturing process where a desired shape is obtained by using electrical discharges. Material is expelled from the metal plate by a series of rapidly recurring current discharges between two electrodes, separated by a dielectric liquid and subject to an electric voltage.
In WKW Precision, we have the machinery and expertise to carry out this machining process. We have the capacity to profile out components made from Tungsten Carbide, Exotic Steel Alloys, Titanium, Aluminium or any material that conducts electricity.
In addition to General Machining & Turning, WKW offer a Tool re-grinding service that includes Drills, Reamers, End Mills, Slot Drills, Side and Face Cutters in High Speed Steel (HSS) and Carbide. We also provide, Form Cutters/Tools in HSS and Carbide for Milling, Drilling and Turning applications.
Our manual machine shop offer full facilities for Turning, Milling, Drilling and a Grinding of External and Internal tool surfaces, in addition to an extensive range of Gear Cutting Machines and Cutting Tools.
